week 10: Today, I read about another important topic that is worth my time, which is Amnesia:33. This is a group of 33 security problems found in four types of TCP/IP software that help devices connect to the internet. These are used in many things like smart lights, cameras, and even industrial machines. Found in 2020, these problems are serious because hackers can crash devices, steal information, or control them from far away. It’s hard to fix because the software is inside products from many different companies, and many didn’t even realize they were using it. The name “Amnesia:33” comes from the idea that these problems were “forgotten” for years, leaving devices at risk.
